Note: This only affects customers NOT on a bright.net provided Internet connection
In order to avoid the abuse of our mail servers and the proliferation of unwanted email (spam), bright.net limits the use of its servers to its customers.
bright.net's mail policy allows any valid bright.net user to use mail.bright.net to send mail out to the internet regardless of where they are accessing the internet. In order to allow you access to send mail, you must first check your mail (via the POP3 or IMAP protocol). Once you have checked your mail you will be allowed to send mail out unrestricted using mail.bright.net within 30 seconds.
During this 30 second interval you will be restricted on the number of emails and recipients to which you may send. You must also have SMTP authentication enabled in your email client.
This policy only pertains to sending out email. Checking your email can be done from anywhere without a waiting period of any kind. Any questions or problems regarding this policy, please email help@bright.net.
